We Are Staying Up! Say We Are Staying Up!

Donna's delight at Wimbledon's last day of the season escape from the relegation zone.

"Wise men say/Only fools rush in.../But I can't help/Falling in love with you-u!!!"

A 2-1 win over Fleetwood Town sees the Mighty Dons finish in 20th place, after the worst goal difference in the division meant a draw wouldn't be good enough to retain League status.

Much relief and happiness outside the bars at the stadium at the end of the game.

As well as some magnificent flags proudly on display!

Donna wishes she was inside the changing rooms right now...
... but she'll certainly settle for having fun outside with the other loyal Wombles!

Bring on Pompey next season!

COYD!

Donna's away day to Gillingham

Second to last game of the season. The mighty AFC Wimbledon need to pick up points to avoid the dreaded drop into the Conference...
Can they do it?
Tired of sitting at home, having to watch Final Score to find out the results, Donna demands to come along to cheer the Dons on to victory.....
Donna makes a new friend outside the pub before the game....
Nerves are jangling, as a visit to Gillingham, who are flying high at the top of the table, awaits...

A nice sunny day...on the rickety pikey scaffolding which constitutes the "temporary" seating for away fans...

Oh no! Down 1-0 within 10 minutes. Disaster!
Then another goal, and we go in 2-0 down at half time. What the flippety-flip!?!!

The gaffer's half time talk seems to do the trick, as well as attacking the goal at the away end for the second half. Can we pull our socks up?
65 mins, Yes we can! 2-1! Jack Midson scores with his right...
Then miracle of miracles! An equaliser! 2-2! Meades hits home on 81 mins! Yay!!!
Can we push for a winner.....?
Ooooohhhh!! Alexander hit the post with a curling shot. So close!
Gillingham park the bus for the final few minutes...while Strutton and Midson and Alexander play three up front...

But the game finally ends with honours even!

The Wombles come back from 2-0 down to gain a well-deserved point!

Congratulations to the Wombles. And well done to Gillingham - who are crowned League 2 Champions at home, with one game to spare!

Phew! 2-2 A hard fought battle... and of course, as usual, other results don't go our way :( But at least we know a win next week (at home against Fleetwood Town) will keep us safe from relegation. A draw or a loss are no good at all... which makes it nice and simple!

Erm..... :/

Anyway, back along the A2 towards South West London, and a nice relaxing cuppa....

Jess's Photography Trip Pt.4

"Oh, I say! Miss!
Would you mind if I took a photo of you?"

"Well, actually, yes I would.
You'll have to speak to my agent first."

"But I'm only a struggling photography student."

"Come now, Brenda! Don't be a spoilsport. You know how we try to support the arts."

"Quite. Look, we have plenty of release forms back in the shed. Just stick your hoof on one of them and help the poor girl out, why don't you!"

 A few minutes later...

"Oh my, Brenda! That's a great pose there! Just hold it a second..."

"Now, remember to capture my best side....
oh, and don't forget to post me a few copies for my portfolio.
Shed 3, Donnyvale Farm, OR974..."

Jess's Photography Trip Pt.3

Up the Northern California Coast, towards Oregon...

"Hmm... this is a nice spot..."
"Oh yes..."

Finding the right angle...

Next stop on the road trip...inland.
But first...

"One more panoramic view..."

Jess's Photography Trip Pt. 2

While she's in the area, Jess pops in to see her friend Amanda in sunny San Francisco...

Chattin' by the bay window

Chillin' in the park

Catchin' some rays
Keepin' an eye on you...

And finally, back at Amanda's apartment...
...Watchin' the sun set over the bay.

And a nice time was had by all!
